When this sweet pair eloped this winter, they had been together for five incredible years. They decided on a destination elopement at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. As they wanted something different from the warm climate they’re accustomed to in Bradenton, Florida.
The bride had never seen snow before. So I’m glad she was able to witness some of the lingering white stuff on their wedding day! The mountains and hills surrounding Pikes Peak were still perfectly dusted, the perfect backdrop for a winter elopement.
It was very clear how much these two love each other! The couple shared with me that the groom had three kids and two cats when they first met, and while the bride is very much allergic to his pets, she loves him so much that she was willing to do whatever it took to share the love he has for his feline friends.
On their elopement day, the bride sat in the backseat of the truck all the way to the ceremony site to ensure the groom didn’t catch a glimpse of her or her dress before their ‘first look’. You could tell by these photos and their emotional reactions that it was well worth the wait!
They also wrote their own vows and letters to each other for an added personal touch to the ceremony (so sweet!), which was professionally officiated by Dan Gustad.
Not only is this sweet couple now married, but they’re entering new phases of their life in other ways as well! The groom has previously done work in the service industry. And just transitioned to working as a superintendent in the construction industry. The bride is also now going back to school with plans to go into the medical field. I wish them all the best as they embark on this beautiful new journey together as husband and wife!
