Santa sessions are around the corner and one of the top questions I get asked is, ‘What should my child wear to meet Santa?’ Well I have answers! This years set is soft and cozy featuring sage green, creme, and sparkles of silver and gold. Santa himself will of course be in red! So let’s dive a little further into what to wear for your Santa Session.
The first option, and one of my personal fav’s is to pick some cozy PJ’s! One of the great things about this choice, is longevity! Not only do you get adorable photos, but if you end up buying PJ’s to wear for the session, you know you aren’t just buying a one time outfit. They’ll have PJ’s they can wear for the whole season. (And if they are like my boys, they’ll still be wearing them in July!)
You’ll hear me say it one too many time’s here, but I’d try to stick with PJ’s that have a mostly neutral base (creme/ivory/white) as opposed to bright red or green. I’d honestly recommend we leave wearing a lot of red to Santa!
So here’s a few pairs I love:
Company Store Company Cotton™ Family Flannel Kids’ Classic Pajama Set in Winter Wood
Pottery Barn Snow Day Gnomes Organic Cotton Pajamas
Heritage Santa Family PJ Collection at Pottery Barn
Hanna Andersson Long John Pajamas in Organic Cotton – Scandicane
Kids’ Holiday Plaid 2pc Pajama Set Green/Red – Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia
1-Piece Christmas 100% Snug Fit Cotton Footless PJs by Carters
Organic Cotton 2-Piece PJs by Carters
If you aren’t keen to go the PJ’s route and want your kiddo dressed up a bit more, I’d suggest going with a pretty but simple dress or romper/jumpsuit for your little girl, or a nice sweater and cords for your little guy. Again, we want the focus to be on your child, their smiles, and their interactions with Santa, not on an over-the-top outfit!
Neutral colors are still great, and simple, soft and cozy fabrics mean your kiddo won’t be itchy, scratchy and uncomfortable during their session. Stay away from wool, stiff fabrics, or anything they aren’t used to wearing a lot!
Here’s a few picks to get you started, but anything along these lines will do!
Hope & Henry Girls’ Long Sleeve Fit and Flare Sweater Dress
Boys’ Striped Mock Neck Sweater – Cat & Jack™ Oatmeal
Soft Touch Combination Tulle Dress by Zara

I hope these wardrobe suggestions help you find those special pieces in your closet, or at the store as you plan for this magical session!
