The Benefits of Scheduling Denver Family Photos in Each Season

Family

One of my favorite things about living in Colorado is the year-round beauty. We are fortunate to live in a place that experiences all four seasons and looks stellar through each one. We are even fortunate enough to often have a winter that ‘looks’ like winter, as there’s often snow on the ground!

As a Denver family photographer, I work with families throughout the year, planning their photos and scheduling Denver family photo sessions each season to truly embrace the beauty of the area and freeze time for many families. Throughout this blog, I’ll share my top reasons for booking your family photos in each season, allowing your family to enjoy creating lasting memories together.

Winter Family Photos

While you may be hesitant to book family photos in the colder months, I can assure you that winter is a great time for photos. First, you’ll be able to experience the ease of scheduling at your convenience, as most photographers will have more availability in the cooler months. Often, photographers are slammed in the fall months, but once winter enters the scene, their bookings slow down. You might even luck out with some fresh snowfall!

Another thing to consider when scheduling your Denver family photos is the variety of seasonal outdoor activities available to experience as a family and include in your session. During the winter, you could plan to build snowmen together, make hot cocoa, or go ice skating at an outdoor rink. Not only will this create epic memories for your kids, but it will also add a unique winter vibe to your family photos.

Spring Denver Family Photos

Spring family photos are always an exciting adventure. The frost is thawing, and we start to see colors blooming throughout the area. It’s the perfect time to play outside without bundling up in winter gear, making for fun moments together in front of the camera! The days are get longer, but not so late that it interferes with bedtime routines too much. Additionally, the bright spring greens and colorful flowered trees are a welcome change from fall colors often seen in family photos.

Summer Fun Family Photos

It can be hard to coordinate schedules for family photos throughout the school year. When things begin to feel more relaxed in the summer, scheduling a session may be an excellent opportunity. Summer sessions are great for taking advantage of longer days and planning an outdoor adventure session. Everyone is so much happier in the summer with promises of all-day play and warm weather so why not include photos, too? If your kiddos love to swim, plan a backyard pool session, splashing in the water with an ice cream or popsicle finish! Perhaps you’ve planned a few vacations during the summer break? Schedule a session while traveling! This is what my family does! It’s a great reminder of the trip and memories made together.

Fall Denver Family Photos

Lastly and probably most popular are fall family photos. While discussing the top reasons for booking Denver family photos in each season, fall doesn’t need much of a sales pitch. Fall family photos are always a fun and is a great time to make some memories. Who doesn’t love jumping in a leaf pile, and the rich colors the season brings?! Plus, fall sessions means photos delivered just in time for holiday gifts and cards. But, if you do fall every year, I might encourage you to try another season for your next session- after all, variety is the spice of life, right!?

Nevertheless, whichever season you choose for your family photos will be incredible. Most importantly, you and your family are together, creating lasting memories and having fun.
