Anyone who know me knows my family and I are a just a little animal crazy. When I meet someone new, and they ask I have any pets and I say ‘oh yes, we have a bunch’ I imagine they probably figure we might have 3 or so…. but how about 12!? (We had 13 but sadly just had to say goodbye to one as she passed on earlier this month.) When I give that number I see the eyes widen and the questions form! But here’s the thing- animals brighten your life in so many ways, and they become part of your family. They are companions and friends, sources of entertainment, fun, laughter, learning and solace. So I never say no when a client wants to bring along their four-legged (or other) animal friend to a family session, because I know first hand that they are part of the crew!
I was so touched when this sweet family reached out to me for an outdoor family session, including their sixteen year old pup, Priscilla. It was so important that they capture some fleeting moments together as a family of five.
For this family session, we met at one of my favorite top secret locations – and the photos show exactly why I love it so much. The long, lush greens, beautiful views, and golden sunlight peeking through the trees always makes for stunning photographs. And this session was no exception!
The love and connection we captured through this session was simply undeniable. Brother and sister interlocked their little fingers to run through the fields and twirl in the tall grass. Mom and dad were able to steal a moment away from the kids for some photos as a couple. And their aging pup was content as she sniffed and explored with her favorite people.
Ready to capture some memories with your favorite four-legged companion?…
I hope you’ll bring them along for your next family session! Take a look at my schedule and we can work out the details!
