There’s something so magical and whimsical about Harry Potter. I recently started reading the books with my own boys and I love to see the tradition starting with each new family that shares my love for the wizarding series of books. This family had chosen the perfect combination of two fantasies: Harry Potter and Star Wars, along with shades of blues and greys to decorate their son’s nursery. And I got to capture it while photographing family photos and a newborn session.

Family Photos With A Newborn

Big sister was incredibly sweet and quite the helper throughout the shoot. She shushed her Daddy to be sure baby brother stayed snuggled fast asleep and even popped in periodically with a “Hey, Erin?” to check in with what I was doing and examine my equipment. At one point, while waiting on brother’s diaper change, she even showed me all of her toys and stuffed animals. Mom and Dad said that she’s taken so well to being a big sister, too – so helpful and never jealous.

I loved getting to have this in home family photo session because of the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. With a new baby it can be a lot easier to get your family photos done in your own home! In addition, I am able to capture candid photos of you in your element.
