Just because you’re eloping doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun and meaningful moments of a traditional wedding. Now you get to make them more unique and personal to your relationship— a huge reason I love working with elopement couples! One of my favorite ways to add a personal touch to your elopement or wedding day is with creative guest book alternatives. They bring a sense of intention, personality, and are unique to your day. Whether you’re inviting a few loved ones or eloping with your partner, here are a few guest book alternatives that offer a sweet and meaningful way to include your loved ones, even those from far away!

Audio Guest Book
First on my list and one of my favorites for a unique experience is an audio guest book. Set up a vintage phone or use a modern service that allows friends and family to leave you voice messages. It’s a creative way to let your people express their excitement and love, and even share a few silly memories too. While they may be silly or leave you in tears, these recordings can be listened to for years to come. They’re especially perfect for guests who can’t attend your Colorado elopement in person! Guests can participate from afar and still leave you with well wishes and support. Imagine on your first anniversary listening to messages from your parents, grandparents, or even your best friends, it’ll be so special!

Disposable Cameras or Polaroid Scrapbook – Creative Guest Book Alternatives
My next idea for creative guest book alternatives is a Polaroid scrapbook or disposable cameras! Give guests a few instant cameras or disposable cameras and let them take the lead. They’ll capture candid moments you may have otherwise missed throughout the celebration. If you’re opting for a scrapbook, ask them to tape their photo into the ‘guest book’ with a note, funny memory or marriage advice. It’s a tangible and straightforward way to include guests while creating more memories to look back on through their eyes. If you opt for disposable cameras, give them to your guests and collect them at the end of your elopement to have them developed and relive your day!
Message in a Bottle, Anyone?
What’s more fun than your guests writing their message in a bottle for you and your partner? Set up an array of small pieces of paper, cards, or scrolls where guests can write notes, memories, advice, or wishes for the future. Then they’ll stick them in a bottle or jar for you and your partner to read on your first anniversary. It’s simple, totally romantic, and fits perfectly with the outdoor elopement vibe, especially in the Colorado mountains.

Personalized Puzzle Pieces or Games Make Great Creative Guest Book Alternatives
I love the idea of guest books that couples can use regularly, a puzzle or game is a simple way to do that. Order a custom wooden puzzle with your names or an engagement photo, and invite guests to sign the back of each piece. It’s tangible, interactive, and something you can frame or keep on your coffee table for a romantic date night. Another option is to buy Jenga and have guests sign the pieces! Similar to the puzzle, whenever you play, you’ll be able to think of your loved ones there on your big day.
One of the most important things to remember about eloping in Colorado is that you and your partner can make it anything you want. Exactly as you dreamed it would be. Whether you’re celebrating with loved ones, your furry friends, or celebrating with loved ones after your vows, these creative guest book alternatives are a fun and unique way to hold onto memories.
