Family photos are always a treasured memory to look back on, but they can be hard to get on the books for many busy families. Our kiddos are constantly changing! Their cute personalities are developing and changing daily; as parents, we don’t want to forget these precious moments. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work with clients for multiple years. It’s so fun to see their children and families grow and change while reflecting on the years that passed. As a family photographer, I’m often asked how often we should take outdoor family photos in Denver. While there may not be a straightforward answer to this question, I’ll share my thoughts below.

Book Outdoor Family Photos in Denver Annually

The first thing I’ll always suggest to families is to book their outdoor family photos at least annually. This works great for families with little kiddos or teenagers with busy schedules and captures the growth and change your family goes through year to year. Annual family photos allow for fresh holiday card photos, and new milestone artwork to hang in your home. Many families opt for an annual session, often in the fall, though there is merit in choosing one of the other three seasons! If fall is the best option for your family though, be sure to contact your photographer early as most photographers’ fall sessions fill quickly and you don’t want to miss out!

Seasonally

As a family photographer based in Denver, I greatly advocate seasonal family photos, or at least switching up the season from year to year. If you live here, you know how completely things change throughout the year. Whether you’re enjoying the fall colors on the leaves, fresh snow falling throughout the city, or exploring the wildflowers in the spring and summer – it’s breathtaking! Seasonal family photos allow you and your bunch to celebrate the beauty found in your hometown throughout the year. As Often As You Can

Lastly, the best answer to the question about how often to take outdoor family photos in Denver? As often as you can! Life with kids is filled with busy schedules, late nights, tons of laughter, and memory-making, but often, scheduling photos is the last thing on your mind. Reflecting on years of taking photos for my clients and booking pictures for my own family, I can assure you that any photographs are better than none at all. Scheduling your Denver family photos will be one thing you’ll never regret! The gap-toothed smiles, silly expressions, and moments of clinging to mama will undoubtedly be some of your favorite memories.
