I met this lovely mom years ago while we were both participating in a photography program in Washington, DC. I have been honored to be their Denver family photographer several times in the years since, both in DC and now here in Colorado. They made the decision to relocate to the area, just like my family – great minds must think alike! It was so great seeing her again for a family session last fall!

For this fall family session, we met at Standley Lake in Westminster on a particularly windy and cold day. While the lake is always beautiful, I had never seen it look quite as colorful and blue as it did that day. Almost like the ocean water in Hawaii! Even with the wind, low temperatures, and a somewhat abbreviated session (it was incredibly cold!), this beautiful family powered through. They were such troopers during our time together. Which resulted in colorful, windswept photos that made it all worth it!
