Over the years, my boys have attended their fair share of birthday parties. In doing so, we’ve come across some pretty unique spots in the greater Denver area.
Whether you’re looking for something on the artsy side or maybe hoping to help burn off that cake and ice cream sugar high, there are certainly a number of options in the Mile High City! Here is a list of some of our favorite birthday party locations —
Craftsman and Apprentice
A great makers space where kids are free to be creative. My boys have attended a birthday party here as well as had their wonderful instructors come to their school and they’ve loved every minute spent here!
Art Garage
A fun place for a party to get messy and make some art! This spot offers a variety of projects to choose from and a great place to sign up for an art class or summer camp while you are at it!
Übergrippen Indoor Climbing Crag
A great place to practice your rock-climbing skills on one of the Alcove Closures in the Kids Zone. The amazing staff at this spot takes care of everything – from setup and breakdown to decorations and supervised climbing. There are even gift bags available as an option for all the birthday guests. All you need to do is show up!
Nico with Canyon Critters
This was one of my boys’ favorite parties EVER! If you have a kid that likes reptiles or just animals in general, Nico is your guy. He brings a whole collection of interesting critters that he educates your party guests on, but this is a hands-on party! Kids get to touch and play (nicely) with snakes, bearded dragons, and even hissing cockroaches!
Altitunes
Birthday parties at Altitunes are a 30 or 45-minute-long musical experience. Your child’s favorite music and instruments will be included during the party, and it’s great for children between the ages of 1 and 6. Birthday parties for other age groups or a private party at your home can also be requested on their website.
Great Play Interactive Gym
Birthdays at Great Play are high energy and planned around your child’s favorite sports or a fun theme (Olympic Party, Superhero Party, Dance Party). Guests will have access to the Interactive Arena, where half a dozen computers control eight projectors, a directional sound system, and over a dozen sensing systems to bring the space to life for even more movement!
Adams Mystery Playhouse
What kid doesn’t love to solve mysteries? The Adams Mystery Playhouse isn’t just a cool old mansion children can explore, it’s also a unique birthday party venue for kids in Denver. Little ones can join in the interactive mystery theater show performed by professional actors and help solve a crime. The Saturday afternoon events are public, so there might be more than one birthday party going on. However, that probably adds to the fun! At the end of the show, there is time for cake and presents.
Wands and Wishes Occasions
If your child has a favorite hero, princess, or character, chances are wands and wishes can make the dream of meeting that special character come true! Complete with a song, a story, and some special birthday magic, these screen to life characters come right to your home or party location to wow your birthday girl or boy and all their guests with lots of fun and fanfare!
Denver Botanic Gardens
Choose between the York Street location and the Plains Conservation Center for a birthday location that is perfect for small-scale celebrations. At York Street, a Picnic and Play Birthday Party is available for children up to age 10. At the Plains Conservation Center, kids can choose between a prairie safari or 1800s homestead-themed party, great for up to 12 guests.
Ninja Nation
If you have an active kid who loves to run, jump or climb, and maybe even is a fan of American Ninja Warrior– this is the party location for you!
Ceramics in the City
This is a wonderful spot for a party for any kid who loves to sit and paint! My boys have loved painting pottery at this ceramics shop where you can find anything from a dragon to a frog to a princess bank to paint!
Hammonds Candies
Hammonds is great for both celebrating birthdays and satisfying your sweet tooth, and it’s also a historical Denver institution! All of the party packages at Hammonds include a private, interactive tour of the factory and two hours in a private party room. From there, you might add on items that are included in some of the more deluxe packages: decorations, a hands-on candy making experience, pizza, soda, goodie bags, candy store discounts, and more.
