Reasons to Schedule a Family Vacation Session

Family

If you’ve had the chance to get to know me on a more personal level, you know that I absolutely love to travel.

Every year, my family and I go on at least one vacation together – and this year, I’m excited that we will finally make it to Europe for a vacation that was postponed – a few different times – due to the pandemic.

One of my favorite things to do during our family trips is to hire a professional photographer and capture some memories together. Here I’m sharing some other reasons you might consider doing the same as you prepare for your next family vacation —

You’ll be able to get the whole group in the photo.

Sometimes, Dad, Grandpa, or even your daughter’s boyfriend can get dubbed the “resident photographer” for family vacations, and it’s easy to go an entire trip without capturing that family member in a single photo. When you work with a photographer and schedule a family session during your trip, that certainly won’t be the case. Instead, you’ll have an entire gallery full of photos with everyone included.

You’ll truly capture the scenery of your destination.

Have you ever caught yourself looking back through vacation photos, maybe sharing them with your friends a week later, and saying “here’s the beach, but the photos just don’t do it justice”. Of course, it’s difficult to capture the true essence of the scenery, especially if you’re just snapping quick photos on your phone. When you hire a photographer, you’re paying a professional to take care of this for you!

You can relax and not worry about taking vacation photos.

When you’re on vacation, you should be focused on one thing – having fun and creating memories with your loved ones. Photos should be the least of your worries. And the best part is that I encourage families to play and have fun during our sessions (none of those stuffy, posed shots). So, as long as you don’t mind a bonus family member for some of your adventures, your vacation won’t even skip a beat!

Connect with a local and learn all their tips!

As your photographer, you’ll be getting a bit of a packaged deal. Not only do I love bringing my camera along on all your vacation adventures, but I also happen to know quite a bit about the locations I photograph. So, if your vacation this year happens to be in Colorado, Florida, or Washington DC (or any location where I’ve traveled in the past), I’ll be sure to share all of my favorite local spots to check out after our session. And if you are headed somewhere more exotic, I am always available for travel!

Your professional photos will make the best souvenirs.

Coffee mugs and t-shirts are nice, but professional photos capture moments we’ve shared with the most important people in our lives. We can look back on a photo and remember that split second in time – when you caught a spectacular mountain or ocean view, splashed and twirled in the water together, or experienced a new place without a care in the world.

Let me know about your vacation plans!

Where are you traveling to this year? The best way to schedule a family vacation session is to keep me in the loop as your plans evolve. We can work together to put dates on the calendar, decide on specific locations, plan outfits for the entire family, and every other detail along the way.

When you’re ready to get started, I hope you’ll reach out to say hi, so we can set things in motion for a truly memorable session together!
