Capturing moments with families as they welcome a little one into the world and then seeing that same child grow and change is such a pleasure! I can’t believe it was just a year ago when I met with this sweet family for a newborn session at their home.

This time, we celebrated little man’s first birthday with a session at picturesque Mount Falcon in Morrison, Colorado. While weather can be somewhat unpredictable in the mountains this time of year, we lucked out and had a beautiful day.

[While Mount Falcon is a fabulous location, it’s also quite popular. For this reason, it can be quite crowded, so I encourage my families to plan for a weekday session or wait until the off season. It’s also a location that requires a permit, so be sure your photographer makes any necessary arrangements in advance.]

This family of four selected their outfits perfectly with mostly neutral colors to compliment the scenery. Big sister was quite the little fashionista with her faux fur coat, adorable skirt, and pigtail buns with animal print bows. I love how the neutral palette allowed the focus to be on how much fun they were having and the beauty of the landscape!

The birthday boy was incredibly cute throughout the session, and his big sister was quite the helper, keeping him entertained with wagon rides in between shots.

We also managed to snag some fun shots of mom and dad at the very end of our session!
