Standley Lake Park Colorado Family Session

Family

For this sweet family’s session, in this unseasonable warm fall we’ve had, we got one of the few cold and super blustery days. We chose Standley Lake Regional Park for our session, a 1,200 acre reservoir in Westminster, Colorado. On this particular day, the water didn’t help with the crisp wind, but they were super troopers throughout their session, trekking farther than any of us anticipated to get these shots!

The normal trail head entrance was closed at the spot we picked, so with two cold littles in tow, we headed out on a long walk straight into the wind. The littlest one wasn’t entirely sure about photos, especially in the wind and cold, but we got some beautiful shots! In the end, it came down to quality family time and snuggles, and I am so happy with how everything turned out!

I am so lucky and grateful that my repeat families trust me and I have the opportunity to work with them and watch their kids grow year after year!

When you schedule a family session in Colorado…

Sometimes we don’t know what we’re going to get in terms of the weather. On a fall day, it could be sunny and seventy degrees or forty degrees and freezing cold (or snowing!). Weather forecast aside, it’s up to your photographer (yours truly) to capture some amazing moments during your session. So, let’s put a date on the calendar, head out into that beautiful Rocky Mountain scenery, and take some photos!
