Marisa & Brian | Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Waterfront Wedding

I am super excited to share this wedding with you for several different reasons. 1. It was the last wedding I did in 2011 and it was an awesome one! 2. Marisa and Brian are SO MUCH FUN (and soooo gorgeous on camera, right!?) 3. I had the help of the amazing Sam Hurd on this wedding, and you’ll see many of his beautiful photographs mixed in here, and lastly, 4. My own wedding is in 10 days. (TEN DAYS PEOPLE!) and so I wanted to leave you with something great to look at for a while as I think it might be a while before I make it back here with an update So don’t skimp on the scrolling, this one’s a good one!!!

Heather & Dave | Breckenridge, CO Engagement

It was freezing, as in yes temperatures were below 32 degrees, but Heather and Dave were troopers and they happily trudged through a foot of snow so that we could get some great engagement photos! My favorite moment was when a HUGE gust of wind blew over us all, kicking up snow higher than we were tall, and you can see that Dave just kept right on kissing Heathers cheek and keeping her warm!! They were so easy to hang out with and photograph, one of those couples that’s just always laughing! I am so excited for their September wedding here in Colorado, congrats Heather & Dave!

Megan & James | Engaged!

Megan and James are quite obviously a beautiful couple, and when you are with them their quite but sweet interactions with each other are so great to watch. These two are ready to start life together and recently purchased a beautiful home in Silver Spring MD, and so when we did their engagement session we started out with a few shots at their home. Then, despite an overcast sky, we moved on to beautiful botanical gardens in their area. I am super excited for their October wedding, but without further ado I give you the beautiful Megan & James!

Emily & David | A Kentucky Destination Engagement Session!

Emily and David, I can’t say enough about these two! With a wedding planned in DC, but their current hometown being Lexington Kentucky, they decided it would be more fun and personal to do some engagement pictures at home, so they flew me out to Kentucky for a fun weekend of great food, great company, and great pictures! We drove all over the area, taking some shots down town, stopping on the side of the road to pet a few horses, and even doing a little race of our own at a true Kentucky racetrack- Keeneland. (Even though we found out we really weren’t supposed to be doing that) So I hope you all will enjoy it just as much, I can’t wait for their wedding in March!

Rachel & Tim | A Bride, a Groom, Balloons and Fall Colors!

When you scroll through and only see portraits of this beautiful couple, you may think it’s just a preview from their wedding. But this is not a sneak peak of Rachel and Tim’s actual wedding because these weren’t actually taken on their wedding day! Rachel and Tim were married October 1st (Blog post on that soon to come!) and it just so happened that the weather was not cooperative at all that day! It was very chilly, very windy and extremely wet! So due to the fact that we couldn’t step outside for a single portrait of the two of them on their wedding day, I offered for us to meet up the next time I was in town to snag a few more portraits. Even though this time around we got a dry day, we still had a completely cloudy sky and rather chilly temps, but we didn’t let that stop the fun! I got lots of laughs and smiles out of these two, and a few model-esque shots too! (I mean hello, Rachel is GORGEOUS!) Enjoy, and stay tuned for their wedding!

Michelle & Ted | Keystone Mountain Wedding in Colorado

Tonight’s blog post is a fun one, because its the first time I get to show a wedding that I photographed locally here in Colorado, yay! I had gotten an email from a lovely photographer from Florida who is on the same photography forum I am on online, wondering if when she was in town for a destination Keystone Colorado wedding, if I could second shoot for her! I was so happy that it was actually a weekend I was in town and so for the first time I got to go up a ginormous ski lift, and photograph a wedding at 12,000 feet! The photographer I got to work with was the talented and very sweet Tiffany Coker of Avant Images out of Pensicola Florida. It was great to get to work with someone new, and with a super nice couple as well! I’m going to stop blabbing now though so that you can take a look at some of the mountain views, and an extremely gorgeous bride and handsome groom!!

Mark & Gina | An Art Studio Wedding in PA

I’m continuing to catch up on long overdue blog posts, and so tonight I give you Mark and Gina. Mark is one of five siblings, and one of his sisters is the lovely Becca who is a great friend of mine. She was kind enough to think of me when Mark and Gina were in need of a wedding photographer, and so this past spring I had the pleasure of photographing their big day. Mark and Gina have been together for many years, and the thought and personal touched they put into their day were so nice. They went against the grain and held both their wedding and their reception in a super cool art studio in Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Mulberry Art Studios They kept it simple by just having their two closest friends as maid of honor and best man, and had Mark’s band play at the reception. What a great celebration!

It’s been a Halloween filled weekend for me! Saturday Stefan and I hosted a costume party at our house with lots of Halloween themed food, drinks and decor and even a costume contest. Then yesterday we hopped over to the Denver Zoo (It’s only a few blocks from our house!) and met up with our good friends Dan and Kamala and their daughter Brinton. Now, if you know Kamala at all, you know halloween is no small matter for her. Halloween is her Christmas, New Years and Easter all wrapped together. She has quite the collection of super creative hand made costumes from years past, and this year was no dissapointment. Brinton (2 and a half years old) wanted to be Monsters Inc for halloween this year, and while most of us would have said “Honey lets pick something a little less um… involved…” Kam was up for the challenge. She handmade these costumes (Yes, she made a 6 and a half foot tall Sully costume!) and even though Brinton wasn’t too crazy about wearing hers (It was a wee bit hard for her to walk in, and we know 2 year olds have places to go!) we still got some cute shots will all three in costume, and even some cute shots without Boo’s monster suit!

Hope everyone has a great Halloween!!! Gotta get ready for trick-or-treaters now!

Sara & Alex | Alexandria Waterfront Engagement

Here’s a few shots from a session I did back in the spring (I know, shouldn’t I blog in some sort of order? No I say to you, that would be too predictable!) But as I bundle up to go outside on a chilly day like today here in Denver – where we got 7 inches of snow yesterday (yes you heard me, over half a foot of snow 6 days BEFORE Halloween) I have to tip my hat to Sara and Alex who are in the last final months of gearing up for a tropical destination wedding, planned right in the heart of winter! So here’s to you two, congrats on the engagement, the upcoming wedding, and the good sense to escape to the tropics in the month of January!

Andrea & Bob | Washington DC engagement

Andrea and Bob have been through the ringer when it comes to their wedding plans… between changed dates and cancelled venues, and even a two part engagement session because our first attempt was on a super hot and humid thunderstorm filled afternoon! But despite all the wedding drama, these two have stayed happy and positive and I think you can tell by the photos that they know what really matters- how much they love each other!
