I've known Katie for almost as long as I can remember, as she is my younger brothers age and we grew up in the same church in Delaware. I remember singing in choir with her, competing for solos against her and participating in the church musicals, camps & youth groups together. She's got a beautiful voice, amazing dance talent and a big heart. From the interactions from our childhood that I remember, she never had a bad word to say or was without a smile on her face. So when I was asked to photograph her big day and I met up with her again, it was no surprise that her demeanor hadn't changed a bit! I am so happy she found Max (lucky guy!) and I was very honored to photograph both their engagement and wedding! I'll share their beautiful Brantwyn Estate wedding in Wilmington, DE next, but first up is their Longwood Gardens engagement session.
Growing up in Delaware meant that hopping over the PA border to walk the stunning garden sidewalks and through the magnificent greenhouses of Longwood was a breeze. Since then I've lived in DC, and now Colorado, as well as travelled far and wide across the country and several stops abroad, yet nothing seems to compare to Longwood (except maybe the 'jardins' of Paris & the Palace of Versaille in France!) and it's year round beauty, showcasing the best of every season. Colorado has its own majestic beauty but I love the opportunities I am given to travel back east to places like this, and of course to see familiar faces from my past! Thank you, and Congrats Katie & Max!
