Jenna and Brian are a super fun loving spunky couple, and so when they said they wanted to do a workout themed engagement session I was all about it! These two met at the gym and workout together all the time, so they wanted to show that part of their lifestyle while getting a part of DC in the picture too! We got some really fun shots, and a bit of a workout too, traipsing all across the National Mall for the sake of photos. I can’t wait for their August wedding!

Strike a pose!

Girls LOVE when a guy can give her a piggy back ride…

I think Brian is saying, ‘Yea, I got this..”

Some stretches turn into a friendly game of tug of war!

Time to jump rope!

Show off those running kicks!

New super favorite shot!!!

Thanks Brian and Jenna, your engagement session was a blast!

Rita and Imi have a wedding fast approaching which is sure to be amazing. It’s going to be a two day Pakistani-American extravaganza with both traditional Packistani and Western rituals. One thing its sure to be is colorful and that makes me oh-so-happy. But in order to pull off such an envent they have had to do a lot of planning, and to go over my role in the festivities the three of us met up to discuss all the details. But the best part for me was when we got to close our meeting with an inpromptu mini-engagement session, and what makes it even better, is that we grabbed the shots right at (and IN) the Dupont Circle Fountain which just happens to be where Imi proposed to Rita!!

Check out the splashing fun!

Awwwwww…. (Part 1)

I told Imi to be serious here, so he is….. so serious he didn’t even notice Rita’s look of surprise when water from the fountain splashed her!

Awww……(Part 2)

This is my favorite- they look so happy!!!

The End!

Chantal: Yes, I seriously love the splashing. I'm all about having fun clients who don't mind being silly. Your favorite shot is also mine.. so epic!

Alan Hutchison: Love that old style processing / framing!

Lara Eichhorn: I love the one where he's lifting her in the fountain and the second one down where they're holding hands. So sweet.

Kim Mendoza: What a fun couple! Splashing away in the fountains...great mini-session!

brooke: these are fabulous! you really rocked the bright sun, too. they look like lots of fun - enjoy the wedding :)

Rhys: PERFECT moment when she gets splashed! It's the kind of thing you don't notice immediately, but it completely changes the picture. Love it!

Alicia Kennison: Your favourite shot is my favourite too. Pure joy.

Despite the dreary mid-week weather we seem to keep getting here the weekends have actually been quite nice and so the other weekend I met up with Eric and Christine, who are tying the knot just next month, to get some engagement photos! We went to the beautiful Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA and walked around the gorgeous grounds snapping pictures here and there.

I met Christine and Eric a few months back and while meeting with them Eric very enthusiastically showed me the video of his proposal to Christine! They are huge Dallas Cowboys fans and so he staged the perfect setting to get down on one knee. Because I just think it’s SO COOL that he got a passer by to video this amazing moment, I now enthusiastically share with you the video of when Eric proposed to Christine !!

These two were just so thrilled to be out with each other last weekend (and I am sure happy to have a moment alone from their 4 kids too!) that it was super easy to photograph them. They just were their happy selves and I clicked away!

Don’t they look cute?

So happy with each other!

I love this one!

I loved this bridge…

These guys were all around and weren’t afraid!

These two wanted a photo with sunglasses on, they’ve got attitude!

Love the lines in this shot

Love me some sun flare!

We’ll end it on a happy one…jumping for joy!

Leo Druker: Wow.. these are spectacular - especially the b&w reflection one - I can't stop staring at it and I don't know why. Amazing job Erin!

Lyn Ismael-Bennett: Love how you played with sun flares. The photos look so romantic!

Bridget Francis: Gorgeous set of images - love the light. Brilliant job!

Albert Palmer: Wow, some great angles and lovely colours. Good work!

Natalie: Gorgeous images! I love when I come across other local photographers - so happy to have found your blog! :)

matt shumate: That's one happy (& cute) couple. :)

Eric Yerke: Your black and whites are rad. For realz

Rima: Great set of images Erin!

Robyn and James simply couldn’t be a more amazing couple. They are a photographers dream because they are always so EXCITED and HAPPY about everything! They really show the couples who have it easy, seeing each other every day and all, how its done! James is in the Navy, and because of that is gone sometimes for several months at a time. Now I myself have a long distance relationship with a certain California boy, but lucky me, I get to see Stefan usually every other week or two. But Robyn and and James take the cake!

Lucky us though – Stefan and I (on one of the weekends he WAS in town) had an absolute blast photographing their engagement session on one of the weekends where THEY both were in the same spot at the same time. (Stefan has been shooting on and off with me, and I have to say I am so impressed with his work, and the ease of which we work together. He got some beautiful shots of these too as well, so be sure to hop over to his blog to check them out!) All in all, a scheduling win! What we didn’t schedule so well (and I take blame) was that one of our chosen locations of the day – the National Arboretum – turned out to be closed by the time we got there. But not to worry, DC is full of beautiful places to photograph, so we headed down to the National Mall to get some shots but believe it or not, we DIDN”T photograph any monuments. (GASP) What did we photograph? Scroll down to see…..

…but before we got to the Mall we just had to take some shots at American University, the very spot where James and Robyn met some years ago!

As you can see, they brought along their pup Dozer who was obviously ready and willing to model for the camera!

And here’s the dorm where they found each other!

They do make a pretty fine looking couple, eh?

On to the Mall!

The light was amazing….

Just look at her feet – you can totally tell how giddy she is!

Robyn knows how to goof off!

Just look at those eyes! I know, right!?

I love when my clients are willing to trespass for the sake of a photo…this museum was closed (see chain) but that didn’t stop us! Stefan got a great close up shot of this, check it out on his blog!

So in love!

Awwww Dozer the handsome puppy model

We did tire him out though – we all got our walks in for the day!

Thanks guys, I am so psyched for August 20th, when I get to be a part of your big day!!

Here it is! Full post from Cameron and Morgan’s engagement session. Cameron and Morgan have been together since college and I think you can see why in the pictures! They adore each other and this always makes it easy on me! Cameron is a fellow PBS employee (where I spend my days) and so I was super psyched when he asked me if we could do some engagement pictures before their wedding next month! They are getting married down in Lousiana in May so we squeezed in some photos just in time last weekend.

The weather was perfect and so were these two!! Morgan was in love with her vintage dress (as was I) so it just seemed appropriate that Cameron twirl her around to show it off:

As I often like to do…I asked Cameron and Morgan to traipse out into the middle of a creek in Rock Creek Park but Cameron being the gentleman he is of course helped Morgan over the wet rocks :)

I asked Morgan to show her love by touching Cameron’s cheek and this is what I got (so sweet, right?)

But even more sweet is Cameron’s reaction:

Quite the models don’t ya think?

Morgan is so cute and petite Cameron had no trouble closing the height gap between them for a kiss….

We left Rock Creek Park

To check out Dupont Circle:

Work it, Work it!

We had to get a shot in front of the iconic Dupont Circle Fountain:

And anyone in DC knows Kramer Books is a city staple

Gosh, Morgan is stunning…

How terribly sweet!

Thanks Morgan and Cameron, I wish you all the best for your wedding next month! I know you will work it for the cameras down south!

Leo Druker: What a beautiful series. I love how much emotion and passion shines through in every one of these. Nice work :)
