Robyn and James simply couldn’t be a more amazing couple. They are a photographers dream because they are always so EXCITED and HAPPY about everything! They really show the couples who have it easy, seeing each other every day and all, how its done! James is in the Navy, and because of that is gone sometimes for several months at a time. Now I myself have a long distance relationship with a certain California boy, but lucky me, I get to see Stefan usually every other week or two. But Robyn and and James take the cake!
Lucky us though – Stefan and I (on one of the weekends he WAS in town) had an absolute blast photographing their engagement session on one of the weekends where THEY both were in the same spot at the same time. (Stefan has been shooting on and off with me, and I have to say I am so impressed with his work, and the ease of which we work together. He got some beautiful shots of these too as well, so be sure to hop over to his blog to check them out!) All in all, a scheduling win! What we didn’t schedule so well (and I take blame) was that one of our chosen locations of the day – the National Arboretum – turned out to be closed by the time we got there. But not to worry, DC is full of beautiful places to photograph, so we headed down to the National Mall to get some shots but believe it or not, we DIDN”T photograph any monuments. (GASP) What did we photograph? Scroll down to see…..
…but before we got to the Mall we just had to take some shots at American University, the very spot where James and Robyn met some years ago!

As you can see, they brought along their pup Dozer who was obviously ready and willing to model for the camera!

And here’s the dorm where they found each other!

They do make a pretty fine looking couple, eh?

On to the Mall!

The light was amazing….

Just look at her feet – you can totally tell how giddy she is!

Robyn knows how to goof off!

Just look at those eyes! I know, right!?

I love when my clients are willing to trespass for the sake of a photo…this museum was closed (see chain) but that didn’t stop us! Stefan got a great close up shot of this, check it out on his blog!

So in love!

Awwww Dozer the handsome puppy model

We did tire him out though – we all got our walks in for the day!
