Last weekend I happened to be walking on the National Mall for the Smithsonian Folk Life Festival when I checked my phone to find a request from a couple named Liesel and Jason, wanting to know if I was available over the Holiday Weekend for a last minute shoot. I thought it strangely coincidental that I happened to be down at the monuments, at the same time had a request to photograph there, so we set up the session and I had the pleasure of meeting Liesel and Jason yesterday afternoon!
Despite a decent number of tourists and some overcast skies, I think we got some nice moments! Liesel and Jason met in college, both engineering majors (Liesel – Chemical and Jason – Nuclear – Did I get that right?) and while their wedding will be in Texas where they met, they will be relocating to DC this fall to start their new lives. So it was fitting that we got a few tried and true shots of some National Monuments during their shoot.
Thanks Jason and Liesel!

This pair is going to have a great first dance!

Jason definitely made Liesel giggle here:

All of the sudden, there were bikes everywhere!

Danielle: Liesel, I'm Danielle (Erin's partner is Luigi, and I'm his wife..) I love pic 2, it looks grand. I also love your engagement ring, it looks very unique and one-of-a-kind. You guys look like a really nice couple, congratulations!
Rachel: Erin, the shot with the bikes is stunning! I absolutely love it and am almost tempted to drive back to DC so Pat and I can get the same photo. Great job!
