Friday I was up in Delaware where I grew up visiting my parents but just before heading back down to DC I stopped for what I wish could have been a longer visit with my friend Julie, and her adorable son Riley. Her husband Jason was hard at work but we got some great shots of Julie, her belly and Riley! Shes due any minute now with another baby boy, Logan, and I can’t wait to meet him when he arrives. In the meantime, look at how much love is between Riley and Julie….

img_0031img_0055img_0054img_0063img_00701img_0106img_0094img_0113The next morning, I got to meet Claire her husband Joe, and their cute as a button son Evan. He’s six months old and despite having the hiccups the whole time, was a champ when it came to looking cute for the camera. The shoot was Claire’s Father’s Day gift to Joe, how sweet is that! Check out Evans giggly smile below :)

I swear, they didn’t stop smiling the entire time! (Unless it was to kiss, except I think they managed to smile then too!) Stephanie, Brian and I met up in Chinatown this afternoon and despite being let down by the fact that the Chinatown arch is hidden behind scaffolding, I think we found some great spots to shoot! I have to say the fire truck shot is my favorite was pretty awesome….we owe a Thank You to the Chinatown Fire Co.! BUt it was Stephanie and Brian who made every picture great, and Stephanie’s suggestion to hit up the Austen Grill with Brian’s pick of a ginormous margarita made for a fun series too :)

After touring the Chinatown area, we headed down to the FDR memorial for some tried and true DC shots. I had such a blast getting to know the two of them, and hearing all about their world travels, the proposal, and their upcoming wedding in Costa Rica! (How amazing will that be!?)

Thanks Stephanie and Brian!!!img_0009-11

I love Brian’s face here. I asked him to make Stephanie ‘throw her head back in laughter’ and this was the look I got!img_0091

How Romantic! Stephanie and Brian were pro’s at making the spin sexy!img_0124img_01511img_0196img_02201

Ed Stillman: Stephanie, Oh where has the time gone, it seems just like yesterday that you and Megan were playing volleyball at Austin Westlake. All decked out in your uniforms ready to hit the deck for Coach Al. You are another one of my daughters, a special one that has a private place in Megan's A&M chapter in her book called LIFE. A dozen years later, as young adults, you and your Brian look so at ease and in love. Your pictures are fabulous, unique to the two of you and sooooo you. Stephanie, Ruth Ann and I wish you the very best and will look forward to seeing you two when you come to Austin. Keep smiling Stephanie, totally embrace your happiness, we love you. This past Saturday Luigi and I had the pleasure of photographing Jen and Mike’s wedding at the beautiful Mountain Branch Country Club in Fallston, MD. Joining us was the very talented Moshe Zusman of Moshe Zusman Photography. It was so nice to have him there, and what a treat for me, coming from doing weddings solo, to having two sets of helping hands with me!

Jen and Mike are such a great couple – and I think you will be able to see how happy they are to be with one another in the photos! Jen look absolutely stunning and the whole day was just gorgeous, from the beautiful blue skies to the hanging flowers lining the ceremony aisle. The day was perfect!

But without more delay – please take a minute to watch a slideshow of some highlights from the day, and you will see what I mean about how amazing their wedding day was!

This was another busy weekend for me, with Jen and Mike’s wedding in Fallston, MD yesterday, and Rachel and Pat’s engagement today! I have my work cut out for me sifting through the hundreds of photos from yesterday, so I thought I would go ahead and share today’s engagement session in the meantime!

Rachel is my friend and classmate at CDIA and I am lucky enough to be able to photograph her wedding this August! But first we scheduled an engagement session, and what better place to start than at home base, starting at CDIA right in Georgetown with a yummy cupcake from Baked and Wired…so we walked around for an hour or two down near the waterfront, next to the canal and everywhere in between. (Like the middle of the road!)

I get to see Rachel a few times a week for classes, but tonight was the first time I got to meet her fiance Pat. He’s got quite a sense of humor and I could see now why Rachel said yes! (Although her beautiful ring would be convincing enough! Haha)

There’s a lot – but until I figure out how to get fancy and put everything in a slideshow, you will just have to give your index finger a workout with the scroll wheel. :)

Enjoy!

Pat & Rachel: Erin- We had a great time yesterday and you did a fantastic job with the photos. Thanks for uploading them so quickly! You did a great job to make us feel comfortable, and even managed to get a smile out of me, something Rachel can't even do behind the lens. Can't wait to see the rest. Thanks again! Rachel and Pat

Tiffany: These pictures are lovely and capture so much between Rachel and Pat-I love them!

Lucy: Heck, those pictures are soooo cute & sexy!!! I wish you both all the fun in the world & can't wait for the WEDDING!!! Luv ya!!!

Flea Market Find!

June 4, 2009

I have always loved flea markets because you never know what you are going to find. When I was a kid I just wanted to go for the 5 cent bubblegum at the candy table… and now, I like to browse around hoping I will find something thats the perfect balance of unique, antique and a bargain! This Sunday I happened to be so lucky….coming across what I think is a super cool little end table. It’s solid wood, with an awesome metal butterfly closure, of which I have never seen anything like it!

While I love the bold yellow color as is, I am thinking it may not mesh so well with the rest of my home decor and this seems like a perfect opportunity for a weekend project! For any of you do it yourselfers out there – I’d love to hear what you think of my find – and any tips, hints, or advice on how to refinish it!

In order to due his part, our cat Loki decided to play Vanna White for the photos. Take a look:

Leave advice in the comments! :)

Danielle: I love the yellow, but do understand that I am talking to a "purple" kind of girl. ... so my answer is hot pink jewelry box!
